Dishwashers are a great way to save time and money. They’re also incredibly convenient because they can handle all your dishes simultaneously, so you don’t have to take them out of the cabinet or sink before loading them into the machine. However, if you don’t maintain your dishwasher correctly or dishwasher cleaning is not done appropriately, it could cost more than simply using a washing machine or hand-washing dishes by hand. As your Mopping Services and dishwasher maintenance and cleaning partner, we are here with tips for keeping your dishwasher running smoothly:
1. Please keep it clean from the inside
Remove any food, grease, and grime from the racks and inside of the dishwasher, such as the sides and bottom. Use a sponge or brush to remove any stuck-on food from your dishes before you put them in the dishwasher. If you’re using a sponge instead of a meeting, be sure to use one that’s soft enough to not scratch or damage your dishes (and don’t use one with metal bristles). You can also try using vinegar on some parts of your dishes if they’ve been sitting in water for too long; this will help dissolve any calcium deposits that may be present on their surface! Rinse all remaining soap residue after each cycle by pouring hot water over them through an open window until they’re spotless.
2. Clean the filter at least once a month
Many things can clog up the mechanism when using your dishwasher and prevent it from working correctly. One of these is debris in your dishwasher’s filter—particularly if you have hard water or minerals such as calcium buildup in your tap water (which can be caused by well water). You may also notice this issue if you have pets who like to lick their paws after running outside all day: those oils on their fur attract dirt and grime that gets stuck inside the filter.
To fix this problem, use a sponge or soft-bristled brush to clean off any gunk stuck between its walls gently; don’t forget those hard-to-reach spots along the top edge! Once done cleaning them out thoroughly with warm water (not hot!), let everything air dry before reassembling everything back together again, so no more residue builds up over time.
